Combining the mod styles, gritty songs and "too cool to give a shit" attitude of The Who with the pop sensibilities of The Beatles, The Jam became an icon of a sort of 'tween generation. The Complete Jam DVD does the band justice by refusing to shovel a bunch of old videos from the production closet onto a disc and call it a day. Instead, this beautifully packaged 2-disc set includes 10 live TV performances, which really reflect the band more accurately than
the aforementioned videos, which for the most part have that "we need to make something called a video" feel to them. While a couple of the added features are pretty gratuitous, the "Fan Phenomenon" is a nice documentary that talks with the fans and gives a good insight into the band's roots.
