Peggy Sue Got Married Soundtrack

ALBUM: Peggy Sue Got Married Soundtrack
LABEL: Varese Sarabande
RELEASED: 1986 (original release date 1985)
EXTRAS: bonus content for this disc would go here. if there is any that is.

The soundtrack to this 1986 film offers both sides of the coin. A lush and beautiful orchestral score by legendary composer John Barry, and several '50's rock n' roll standards. The disc starts out with "Peggy Sue's Homecoming," which plays during a wonderful scene in which Peggy Sue (Kathleen Turner) visits her grandparents and seems to be suspended between reality and the time-shift dream she's stuck in throughout most of the film. John Barry has an incredible talent for creating an emotional and gripping score that reflects, and perhaps even creates, indelible movie moments.

The remaining five tracks are standards performed both by the original artists (Buddy Holly's "Peggy Sue Got Married," of course; and Dion & The Belmonts doing "Teenager In Love"), as well as several remakes, including Nicolas Cage singing "He Don't Love You." Marshall Crenshaw fans will love his version of "You Belong To Me," performed on location in a California High School gym.
