Overdub
is excellent and electic rock. David Garza uses a range
of instruments and vocal tricks that make this album relate
to artists like Martin Sexton and Bob Dylan. "Keep On Crying"
is a sweet and throbbing song that seems to move slowly
through muddy water while a flurry of rhythms keep it from
being dragged under. Again, the sounds and production are
wide ranging and reminiscent of Springsteen's "Darkness
on the Edge of Town" and Billy Joel's "Goodnight Saigon."
While Garza is clearly a strong talent, his best work lies
ahead. Several driving-rock also-rans found their way onto
this otherwise strong album.
